Google claims to be a great place to work and with aims of being a diverse and inclusive organization, but they just sway with public and political opinion. If they are accused of being anti-"conservative", they decide that means they should cancel, defund, and stop all efforts to create a diverse and inclusive organization. They have no idea how to do no evil or even how to be good. They just let themselves be buffeted by the loudest voices and never take a real stand on anything that matters. It's just a regular old evil corporation with misguided, ignorant people at the top making bad and harmful decisions. Don't let them convince you otherwise.

Your experience is entirely based on your team because there is not monolithic workplace culture at Google. You may have team leaders that are great and you may have some that make your life hell. Fortunately for me, I have a supportive team that places value on diversity and work life balance.

This company has extremely well-regard and frankly, it deserves all the hype it gets from a technological aspect as well as a cultural one.
