They don't believe in ERG/BRGs. Decisions related to pay and promotion are not fair. Diversity programs don't address cultural bias.

Lip service
Baylor is still in the mode of giving lip service to the African American community. The CEO sent out a message of concern but no further action, commitment or donations. With all the attention given to Juneteenth, there was no company message or celebration. But just a few months ago, Cinco de Mayo was widely celebrated. This company remains stuck in the past with no movement towards progress.

Diversity & Inclusion
With everything that’s going on in the world today related to racism, I am disappointed at how Baylor Scott & White Health just sent out a generic response to “check the box” regarding the protests and black lives matter. Management hasn’t completed a pulse check on their African American employees which is very concerning. To add fuel to the fire, we celebrated Cinco de Mayo and nothing was celebrated nor mentioned of Juneteenth.

High Turnover
No visibility to upper management. There are very dedicated doctors, nurses and EMTs, but turnover is constantly an issue. Pay could be better. It’s a huge hospital system making bureaucracy a problem and making it difficult to move up the ranks. I wish management would listen more to concerns.

Patients First
I am a registered nurse and moved to Texas from NY. I enjoy my experience working here overall. It can be very challenging by my team, manager and co-workers are supportive and we hope each other through any challenges. We have received national awards of excellence and I am proud of this recognition. At the end of the day, what is important is how we best serve our patients.
