Toyota's diversity and inclusion programs in most instances are bottom up vs top down and highly relationship based. It's really the luck of the draw if you land in a progressive thinking dept.

The broader organization feels inclusive. In my specific vertical I’ve had to deal with the typical close minded good ol boy exclusion and dismissiveness. Outside of my vertical the company is an asian versus whites political struggle. If you’re not of either ethnicity you’re essentially a placeholder for where one of the other two sides can strengthen their position.

Lots of improvement needed. We can start with the lack of diversity in the management.

Good but Room for Improvement
Promotional opportunities are not the same for me as my white colleagues. I feel like Toyota talks the talk but does not seek true feedback from its diverse employees. There is room for increasing inclusion.

Diversity in Management
We live in a city that has a majority-minority population. Pipeline issues are not the problem of attracting ppl of color.

Numbers
Diversity is just a numbers game here. Most of the diverse employees hold entry-level positions.

Move to DFW
I was nervous that the move to DFW would disrupt the culture of the company. I couldn't have been more wrong.

Inclusion
Inclusion is the problem at hand at this company and I think they know it yet choose to ignore/brush any issues of this matter under the rug.

Recommend Working Here
I always judge a company on how likely I am to recommend working there to friends and family and I would definitely do that at Toyota. The culture is all about respect which translates to even the benefits we receive. I think part of the wonderful culture is a reflection of the fact that this is a Japanese owned company. "
